Booking choice: The Reduta Jazz Club concert, from $25 per person. Check dates Tour details
November is the strongest jazz month in Prague. Jazz Dock runs its flagship festival in the first week, the Czech Radio Jazz Festival follows, and the country's biggest blues festival fills a town in Moravia in between.
Summer belongs to the open air: free Bohemia JazzFest concerts in July and a jazz day on 30 April. Every date in this post comes from the organiser's page or the city's listings.
The quick answer
Jazz ON5 runs at Jazz Dock from 3 to 9 November 2026, the Czech Radio Jazz Festival is a one-day event there on 18 November, and Blues Alive takes over Šumperk from 12 to 14 November. Bohemia JazzFest is a free July festival; in 2026 it played Prague on 14 July. Between festivals, Reduta, Jazz Dock, AghaRTA and the Jazz Boat have live jazz most nights.
Which jazz festivals are on in Prague in 2026?
In the rest of 2026: Jazz ON5 (3 to 9 November), the Czech Radio Jazz Festival (18 November) and the last Jazz of Four Continents concerts at Jazz Dock, plus Blues Alive in Šumperk (12 to 14 November).
Most of the autumn action is in one building. Jazz Dock sits on the Smíchov bank of the Vltava at Janáčkovo nábřeží 2, and it hosts Jazz ON5, the Czech Radio Jazz Festival and the Jazz of Four Continents series. Many of this year's Four Continents concerts sold out, so book the remaining dates early.
Jazz ON5 is the club's most prestigious festival: seven evenings this year, with Bill Frisell Trio on 5 November, the Scott Kinsey Group on 6 November and Trio Grande 2.0 closing on 9 November.

Jazz Dock describes the line-up as progressive, original bands that mix jazz with electronics, contemporary classical music, rock and pop. Takuya Kuroda brings his eighth album, Everyday. MaBaSo is a vibraphone, bass and drums trio.
Tickets are cheaper before the day. Advance prices hold until 17 November, and club discounts do not apply.

When is Bohemia JazzFest?
In July. The festival, founded in 2005 by jazz guitarist Rudy Linka, ran from 14 to 21 July in 2026, with its Prague concert on 14 July in the Royal Garden of Prague Castle. Entry is free.
Bohemia JazzFest tours the country in a week: Prague first, then Pilsen, Prachatice, Hluboká nad Vltavou and Brno. The Prague evening in 2026 ran from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., according to the Prague 1 district listing.
The 2027 dates are not out yet. Expect the festival in July again, and check the festival's own site in spring.
| 2026 date | City | Prague venue and time |
|---|---|---|
| Tue 14 July | Prague | Royal Garden of Prague Castle, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. |
| Wed 15 July | Pilsen | |
| Fri 17 July | Prachatice | |
| Sat 18 July | Hluboká nad Vltavou | |
| Mon 20 and Tue 21 July | Brno |
Is there still a Prague International Jazz Festival?
Not under the old name. The AghaRTA Prague Jazz Festival, which started in 1992, lists line-ups up to 2019, and its organisers say it can no longer continue under that name. AghaRTA now puts on one-off concerts.
For years this was the festival people meant by Prague's international jazz festival. The AghaRTA club in the Old Town still has jazz most nights, with concerts from 9 p.m.
The international names now come through Jazz Dock, above all in Jazz ON5, which reached its sixteenth year in 2025. On 30 April, International Jazz Day, the Mladí ladí jazz Open Air fills the Prague Exhibition Grounds; Prague City Tourism lists a voluntary admission fee.

What is Blues Alive?
A three-day blues festival in the Dům kultury in Šumperk, Moravia, which CzechTourism calls the largest showcase of blues in Central Europe. The 30th edition runs from 12 to 14 November 2026.
One of the two main stages is kept for Czech performers. Šumperk is a long trip from Prague, so treat it as an overnight stay rather than an evening out.
The festival also brings a concert series to Prague. At Jazz Dock, the Blues Alive 2027 series includes Tommy Castro & The Painkillers on Sunday 28 February 2027 at 8 p.m. For blues on a normal night in Prague, U Malého Glena in Malá Strana and Jazz Dock both put on blues bands.
Prague's oldest jazz club, open since 1957, with a reserved seat for the evening's concert.
Check dates for the Reduta Jazz Club concertWhere can you hear jazz in Prague between festivals?
Every night, in the clubs and on the river. Reduta on Národní has played jazz since 1957, Jazz Dock sits on the river bank in Smíchov, and the Jazz Boat puts a live trio on the Vltava at 7:30 p.m. most evenings.
For a first night, Reduta is the classic: a reserved seat, a beer tapped from a golden saxophone, and the club where Bill Clinton played a saxophone in 1994. Arrive 45 minutes early for the 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. shows. Reduta is not wheelchair accessible; there are a few steps to the jazz hall.
For jazz with a view, the Jazz Boat is the only boat in Prague with a live band: three sets in 2 hours 30 minutes, dinner optional, drinks paid on board. Over the festive weeks it adds 4:30 p.m. sailings, listed in our Christmas post. The full club-by-club picture is in our guide to Prague jazz clubs.
