Dinner on the river, music in the background

Prague Evening Cruise with Buffet Dinner & Live Music

About this experience

You board at the Prague Boats piers on Dvořákovo nábřeží by Čech Bridge (the listing gives Dvořákovo nábř. 901), about 10 minutes on foot from Old Town Square. Departures are in the evening, daily at 7 p.m. on Prague Boats' own timetable, with no regular dinner cruise on 24 and 31 December; your voucher has the time and the pier. The latest boarding is 15 minutes before departure, and Prague Boats suggests coming 30 to 40 minutes early if you need to check in at the ticket office. The cruise lasts three hours. Lock traffic on the Vltava can change the route, but not the length.

The buffet is all you can eat and open the whole evening: cold starters such as duck pâté, Czech cheeses and Greek salad, chicken broth, beef goulash, schnitzels, ham carved off the bone, paella, dumplings and rice, then cheesecake, tiramisu and gingerbread. Vegetarian and gluten-free dishes are always on it, with at least one vegan dish. A welcome drink is included; every other drink is bought from the bar. The live music is background music: a musician or a small group plays sets with short breaks, so you can talk over dinner. It is not a jazz concert. If the band is the reason you are going, the Jazz Boat is the better fit.

Prague Boats sails its restaurant cruises on its larger boats, and the boat for your evening is assigned on the day according to how full each departure is. For this cruise that means Grand Bohemia, Bohemia Rhapsody, Agnes de Bohemia, Valencia or Cecílie, so a glass-sided boat is not guaranteed. The standard seat is in the middle of the saloon; a window seat is guaranteed only in the Exclusive category. Tables seat up to six, and a group can be split across tables. Prague Boats says there are toilets on all its large boats, and that Grand Bohemia, Bohemia Rhapsody and Agnes de Bohemia are fully wheelchair accessible, with an accessible toilet. The older boats on this route are not, so mention a wheelchair in your booking note. Pets and large bags are not allowed. The cruise sails in any weather: the main deck is covered, heated in winter and air-conditioned in summer. Only extreme weather or high water on the Vltava cancels a sailing, and Prague Boats then offers another date.

  • An unlimited hot and cold buffet, freshly prepared on board
  • A welcome drink as you board
  • Live music in the background, with breaks to talk
  • Charles Bridge, the Castle and the embankments lit up at night
  • A heated saloon in winter, air conditioning in summer
  • Audio commentary in Czech, English and German, plus free Wi-Fi
